Email Signature Manager version 7.x
This article describes the symptoms and cause of a problem where the service log for a user shows that the OWA signature cannot be deployed because the user has a shared mailbox. This article also describes the resolution for this issue.
The service log for a user shows that the OWA signature cannot be deployed because the user has a shared mailbox.
The following error information will be showing for affected users in the Status Monitor dialog in the Service Log:
Signature '<Signature Name>' can not be deployed to OWA because the user has a shared mailbox.
The user shares primary email address with at least one other user in Active Directory. This means two or more users are linked to the same mailbox. Email Signature Manager cannot deploy OWA email signatures for different users to one single mailbox, as this would cause unexpected results.
The only resolution to this problem is to maintain the email signature for such "shared" mailboxes manually in OWA.
The problem is resolved as described above.
