Image in email signature is replaced with red X when email is created by the sender.
This problem occurs when the image is inaccessible from the email client. The most common reasons are that the image no longer exists, or that the user does not have permissions to access the image.
If the image is hosted on a network share, a simple way to verify is to browse to the network share in Windows Explorer and then attempt to open the image.
If the image is hosted on a web server, a simple way to verify is to browse to the image URL in Internet Explorer and verify the image appears.
